Shame can be debilitating and is one of the most difficult emotions to heal from, or for therapists to even help with. Society constantly tells us it's all our fault and it's easy to agree and pile on self-blame and shame. It can even look like self-sabotage - but it's not. It's a defensive, protective internal process that we use to stay safe.

Debbie will delve deeply into it today from the perspective of brain science, since one of the best ways to combat it, is to normalize it. This can stop the cycle of self-blame and begin the healing.
