If you would like to see what I do in an afternoon and evening on a contract pest control shoot, you are in the right place. This shooting trip we are out hunting invasive feral pigs, foxes and feral cats. There's plenty of bulk action packed footage in this video in both daylight and after the sun sets with the thermal gear, things get a little wild towards the end plus...... I'm running the bolt pretty hard on my new custom 308Win rifle and it's not without a few teething niggles.

Access into this area is with my mates Polaris XP1000 side by side buggy. This machine is purpose built for his contract shooting business and works amazingly well in the terrain type for pest control. Big thanks to him, my unnamed mate "Bucket" for the invite out seeking assistance.

Critters on the deck and not killing native animals and damaging agriculture is the aim of the game. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace in Australia and are classed as invasive pest species.

I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressors, both my mate and I hold the necessary permits in NSW to do so. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.

My 308Win rifle is a full custom, which I will review soon to share all the details properly. Action is a Defiance Machine Tenacity, Triggertech Special trigger, 18 inch Carbon Six Barrel, Wedgetail Industries Suppressor, all in an MDT HTN26 Carbon Fibre Chassis. I'm running reloaded ammunition with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles and a sprinkling of subsonic rounds, which are reloads using 190 Sub-X projectiles. My thermal scope is a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 and for the scanner I'm running a brand new Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 which is 1024x756 resolution !!! Daylight scope, I'm using a PARD D35/50 RF. All up it's about a $15,000 AUD value rig with the thermal scope fitted.

If you are interested in a thermal or night vision device in Australia, have a chat with Ben from Hunt the Night. He generally has the best prices anyway in Oz. If you use the below affiliate link it helps me a bunch. At no cost at all to you 👌
