In This Key West Beaches Adventure:
Weekend getaway at the Florida Keys. In this episode we explore the Beaches of Key West, Florida. Not all beaches in Key West are created equal. Join us on this Adventure to find the Key West's best and worst beaches! You can bet this video delivers.

Beaches:
Simonton Beach, Key West: This is a very small beach, often lots of people. It's more of a wading area than a full fledged beach. For decades a mostly forgotten little beach, today it is enjoying a revival thanks to a beach concession moving in and improving the area and amenities. Here, you’ll find a soft, sandy spot to sit by the water, and direct access into the often-clear water of Key West harbor. Beach chairs and umbrella are provided by the concession. But feel free to bring a towel to spread out. Parking is always tight – so come by foot or bike if you can.

Duval Street Pocket Park Beach, Key West: Located in the heart of historic Old Town Key West, Duval Street Pocket Park is a little oasis with a nice beach. This park is a hidden gem that offers a peaceful and serene setting for tourists who are visiting it for the first time. The park is easily accessible from Duval Street and can be accessed by a small entrance on the south side of the street.

One of the highlights of the Duval Street Pocket Park is its unique fountain, which is made up of several colorful glass plates that are arranged in a spiral pattern. The fountain provides a calming backdrop for the park and is a popular spot for visitors to take photos or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

For tourists who are looking for a break from the crowds and noise of Duval Street, the Duval Street Pocket Park Beach is the perfect spot to unwind and recharge. Whether you're looking to relax in the shade, enjoy a picnic lunch, or simply take in the sights and sounds of the park or beach, this hidden gem is a must-visit destination for any Key West itinerary.

Higgs Beach, Key West: Higg’s Beach is a lesser known getaway, often missed by those who flock to the better known Smathers Beach. Not quite as well know as its big brothers, Fort Zach Beach or Smathers, it sits on an impressive 17 acres and like others on the island, has its sand imported, from the Caribbean. This escape is perfect for relaxing under the shade watching the palm trees sway or floating on the calm waters.

An interesting fact, is that it is the only shore-accessible underwater marine park in the United States. Snorkeling here is unbelievable and as you move out away from the shore a bit, it gets even better!

To the east of Higgs beach is the Whitehead Pier and the buoy at the Southernmost Point. That goes so far out, that it's also called the "unfinished road to Cuba".

Smathers Beach, Key West: Located on Key West’s southern shore, this long and tranquil beach is almost 1 mile long, Soft sand beach and palm trees at Smathers Beach in Key West. Is this the Key West beach you were looking for? For many the answer is YES! We think its the best beach in Key West by far.

Key West largest beach runs along the southern shore of the island for almost 2 miles. Beach activity ranges from tanning, volleyball, and watersport rentals.

The sand is brought in from the Bahamas (island rumor) and deposited there for your pleasure. Tropical storms have a habit of sweeping the sand away, and nearly every other year the city of Key West has to replenish the beach. Public restrooms and showers available.
