Super Mario RPG was Square Soft's (now Square-Enix) take on the Mario series reimagined as a turn based role playing game like their other games like Finale Fantasy.
Princess Toadstool (Peach) was visiting Mario when suddenly Bowser swoops in and kidnaps her once again, when Mario goes to save her he finds a gigantic sword has clamed Bowser's castle and destroyed the bridge, now Mario has to embark on a journey to find a way into the castle and save the princess.
