If the Gun Culture of the 1990's had a mythology to be described by the mainstream media, it would be centered around an approaching apocalypse. But for most historical mythologies, apocalypse referenced a conclusion of the knowable timeline. Jack Donovan has written extensively about masculinity and violence long before words like "manosphere" reached the internet.

In this episode, we cover concepts like the Empire of Nothing as presented in Becoming a Barbarian, the relevance of the striker in myth in regards to violence, and rejecting the abdication of Morality to convenience.

Jack Donovan is the author of "The Way of Men," "Becoming a Barbarian," "A More Complete Beast," and "Fire in the Dark" as well as other titles. In these books he covers topics and theses such as "Violence is Golden," and defining masculinity across cultures.
