US Coast Guard: Getting salvage equipment is top priority for missing Titanic tourist sub mission

At a press conference at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Boston, Massachusetts Tuesday, U.S. Coast Guard Captain Jamie Frederick said the U.S. Navy and Transcom are in the process of obtaining and staging salvage equipment in St. John’s, Newfoundland in case the missing Titanic tourist submersible is found. The submersible, called Titan, lost communication shortly after beginning its underwater voyage to the Titanic shipwreck in the Atlantic Ocean.
