I absolutely love this tent! It performed amazingly well during my 12 day camping trip in Philmont Scout Ranch. Setting it up is incredibly easy with just 2 poles and takes only 5 minutes to do so.
At just 3 pounds, its lightweight and perfect for backpacking trips. It also fits easily on the outside of my backpack. The additional "Footprint" was a great purchase as it added an extra layer of protection to the bottom of the tent.
Despite getting rained on several nights, the tent held up perfectly and kept me dry. The zippers were also very durable and worked well. I was surprised by how warm the tent kept me during chilly nights.
At zero degrees Fahrenheit, I was still comfortable with the proper sleep system. If youre a bigger person, the tent may be a tight fit. As a 510" 160 lb person, there wasnt much room for anything else other than myself.
I had to leave my backpack in the outcove. For a beginner camper, this tent is incredibly sturdy and easy to set up. I had no problem doing so in the rain.
Its also perfect for housing pets during camping adventures. With my two dogs, it got a bit squishy but we were still comfortable doggy piling together.
The little pockets inside were incredibly handy for holding gear and the vents on the rain cover were a great addition for keeping the tent fresh.
Overall, Im extremely pleased with my purchase of the ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 1-Person Backpacking Tent and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and easy-to-use tent.
