In Defense of The Strangers

I've read the reviews, I've heard the reactions, I've wracked my brain trying to reconcile a classic film with its unfavorable feedback. When all of a sudden the reasoning behind this movie's response from the critics despite the film's iconic status became clear: Bad Taste and Poor Takes. Join me in the vindicaiton of the legacy of #TheStrangers and its place in the lineage of the Slasher genre. I ain't talkin' what Slashers have become the likes of Prom Night, Urban Legend, and Terrifier. I take it back to the beginnings of Suspense and Thrillers. In my Defense, I don't just give some buzzword appraisal of The Strangers, but explain why it is a modern classic.
