B-24D Liberator - Part 01

This is the largest model I ever built, therefore, I thought I would do an overview of the kit. This is a Revell kit #85-5625 released in 2010. According to Scalemates - https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-85-5625-b-24d-liberator--146200 the original kit was released by Monogram in 1976 and since then there have been 16 releases, including this one, with the latest release being in 2023. According to scalemates the molds being used must still be the molds from 1976 because the only changes recorded is new decals and new box art. I thought the molds were old because the model has raised panel lines and most new kit releases have recessed panel lines, so...as i state in the video, I will most likely remove the raised lines and scribe new panel lines.

This build is part of a series that I started over a year ago that I call "America Goes to War". As part of the series I built a 1941 Chevy Pickup and a 1941 Plymouth 4-Passenger Coupe. While doing the research on these two vehicles I learned that 1941 was the last year most car manufactures produced cars for civilian use, but also, Ford built a plant at Willow Run, Michigan to build the B-24 Liberator. I thought that was amazing! So...as part of this series, after the cars were built, my shop is being converted to building the B-24. You can view a brief history of these builds on my website photo journal:
