"So he gave a perfect example of what a tradition of the elder does to the word of God. The word of God says honor your father and mother that it may go well with you. Well, they were not honoring their father and mother, and as long as they gave a gift unto the elders, it was absolved. It was overlooked. And so it negated what the word of God said, which is mean you need to honor your father and your mother.

And so when I look at these scriptures, I see that the Pharisees willfully substituted their traditions over and above the commandments of men, excuse me, the commandments of God. They took the commandments of men and made it higher than the word of God, and in doing so, they made the word of God in the lives of people that they were trying to reach, supposedly, and minister to, of none effect. It didn't matter what the word of God said, just do what we say."
