Teapicker Ex Machina | Kenyans protest massive jobs loss to tea-picking machines

It’s not a Boston Tea Party spin-off, but close enough: Kenyans who previously worked as tea pickers took to the streets in protest over the introduction of harvesting machines that have made them almost redundant. Reports indicate that 15 such machines, worth around $1.2 million, have been destroyed in the past year.
