This is the story of the "Battle of Ape Canyon," as written by Fred Beck, one of 5 miners who allegedly encountered a group of unknown primates in 1924 while prospecting in the Mount St. Helens area of Southwest Washington State. Beck tells of a skirmish that took place between the men and a supposed group of Sasquatch one night near what is known today as Ape Canyon, aptly named after the incident. The miners' cabin fell under attack soon after two of the men fired on a possible Bigfoot creature at a nearby spring while collecting water. The encounter lasted through the night and into the next morning before the men managed to escape to their vehicle and drive back to civilization. Were these miners attacked by Bigfoot?!
