AI may or may not be able to feel yet, but it’s certainly capable of telling humans how to feel, as demonstrated by an experimental ChatGPT church service in Germany. Devout worshippers looked on as a giant screen showed various computer-generated preachers delivering a heartfelt sermon about God, Jesus, and the best hot singles in your area.

Many believers were underwhelmed by the experience, citing the lack of emotion, garbled language, and increasing feelings of alienation, but some worshippers saw various opportunities in the technology, such as making sermons more easily accessible.
