In this video, I will talk about the recent nerf to the snipers in XDefiant, a new shooter game from Ubisoft. Snipers are powerful weapons that can take out enemies with one shot to the head, but they also have some drawbacks, such as slow reload speed, high recoil, and limited ammo. XDefiant has several sniper rifles to choose from, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. However, some of them have been nerfed in the latest update, making them less effective in certain situations. I will explain what these changes are and how they affect the gameplay and the sniper meta.

The nerf mainly affects the lightweight snipers, such as the Kar98k, SP-R 208, and Swiss K31. These snipers have fast aim down sights (ADS) speeds and high mobility, but they also have low bullet velocity and damage drop-off at long ranges. Before the nerf, they could achieve one-hit kills to the head within any distance, making them very lethal and versatile. After the nerf, they can only achieve one-hit kills to the head within a specific range, depending on the weapon. For example, the Kar98k can only one-shot enemies within 52 meters, while the Swiss K31 can only do so within 45 meters. Beyond these ranges, it takes two headshots or more to down an enemy.

This means that these snipers are no longer viable for long-range engagements, where they are outclassed by heavier rifles like the TAC-50 or the Type 99. These snipers have slower ADS speeds and lower mobility, but they also have higher bullet velocity and damage output, allowing them to one-shot enemies at any distance. The TAC-50 is currently the best sniper rifle in XDefiant, as it has high damage, accuracy, and handling stats. The Type 99 is also a good option, as it has a faster fire rate and a larger magazine size than the TAC-50.

The nerf to the lightweight snipers is a much-needed change that balances the game and adds more diversity to the weapon choices. It also makes sniping more challenging and rewarding, as it requires more skill and precision to land headshots within the optimal range. Sniping is still a viable and fun playstyle in XDefiant, but it also requires more strategy and awareness of your surroundings. In this video, I will show you some tips and tricks on how to use snipers effectively in XDefiant, as well as some gameplay footage of me sniping with different rifles. Stay tuned and enjoy!
