The British Royal family celebrated King Charles III’s first official birthday parade as monarch on Saturday, June 17. The annual tradition, dating back 260 years, is a ceremony known as Trooping the Colour, which marks the birthday of the reigning king or queen. King Charles was born in November, but the June ceremony is the official public celebration. Footage posted by The Royal Parks shows festivities underway near Buckingham Palace, including a flyover in the formation of CR, for Charles Rex – meaning King Charles in Latin.
