Was lucky enough to have seen this.
First of it’s kind. Reading Festival was well established and Glastonbury was a very different thing back then but this was the first time a Festival had been put together that was for Hard Rock / Heavy Metal fans. Now, of course there are many but this was the first.
This was also the original home of the Monsters Of Rock, they had a few here under that name but there was a parting of the ways. Donington still hosts a festival, it’s now a 3 day event and is known as ‘Download’.
