2023 Candidate for New York City Council - Marvin Jeffcoat

Marvin Jeffcoat is a dedicated candidate running for New York City Council on November 7, 2023. Marvin is a devoted family man, married to Maria F. Jones, and together they are raising their two sons in Woodside while actively participating in the local community. With a background in facility management and sustainability, Marvin currently works for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, ensuring safe and energy-efficient building operations.

Marvin's commitment to community service is commendable. Upon his retirement from the military in 2004, he immediately immersed himself in serving Woodside as the Youth Chairman for John V. Daniels Jr. VFW Post No. 2813. Under his leadership, numerous local youths have received scholarships, empowering them to pursue success through education and skill development. Marvin is also involved in various associations and organizations, including the Organization of Staff Analysts, the 82nd Airborne Division Association, the Combat Infantrymen's Association, and the VFW.

A natural leader, Marvin's experience spans both military and civilian sectors. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in combat operations during Operation Desert Storm, earning esteemed awards and commendations. Furthermore, his expertise in facility management and energy conservation has been recognized by the City University of New York and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services. Marvin plans to utilize his leadership abilities to create jobs and enhance the quality of life for the residents of New York's 26th Council District.

Marvin's educational background is diverse and impressive. Holding a Juris Doctorate, a Master of Arts in Diplomacy, a Bachelor of Political Science, and an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice, he possesses a wealth of knowledge, skills, and training. Marvin is eager to leverage this expertise to ensure a safe and secure environment for all New Yorkers.

Marvin's campaign is fueled by three fundamental reasons. Firstly, he aims to restore the American dream for his children by advocating for a consistent rule of law that prioritizes the safety of all citizens. Secondly, he strongly believes in reviewing and eliminating policies that harm the community, such as the release of hardened criminals and the imposition of civil penalties for criminal offenses. Lastly, Marvin aims to foster unity and leadership rather than divisive rhetoric, providing a fresh perspective and representing the interests of all constituents.
