Make the Most of Your Old Bread with Delicious Cinnamon Sugar Toast Sticks!
Repurpose an old bottle and turn it into a delectable snack with these easy-to-make Crunchy Cinnamon Sugar Toast Sticks. This creative recipe combines leftover bread slices, a touch of butter, and a homemade cinnamon sugar blend to create a satisfyingly crispy and sweet treat. It's a perfect way to enjoy a quick and delicious snack while reducing waste!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
• 4 slices of bread (preferably slightly stale)
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Remove the label from the old bottle and ensure it's clean and dry.
3. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the bottom of the bottle to create a cylindrical mold approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.
4. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon to make the cinnamon sugar blend.
5. Take one slice of bread and lightly brush one side with melted butter.
6. Sprinkle a generous amount of the cinnamon sugar blend over the buttered side of the bread.
7. Roll the bread slice tightly around the bottle mold, starting from one end. The butter and cinnamon sugar should keep the roll intact.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 with the remaining bread slices.
9. Place the cinnamon sugar-coated bread rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
10. Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
11. Gently slide the bottle mold out of each bread roll, leaving behind perfectly shaped toast sticks.
12. Serve the Crunchy Cinnamon Sugar Toast Sticks as is or pair them with a dip of your choice, such as melted chocolate, cream cheese, or maple syrup.
13. Enjoy the delightful crunch and sweet flavor of your up cycled snack!
Note: Make sure to properly clean the bottle mold before using it in the kitchen. Adjust the amount of cinnamon sugar according to your taste preferences, and feel free to experiment with different types of bread for added variety.
