Pennsylvania officials announced on Wednesday that they will be bringing in 2,000 tons of lightweight glass nuggets to expedite the reconstruction of a collapsed section of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia.

To ensure a swift reopening of this crucial commercial route, crews will be working around the clock.

By utilizing recycled glass to fill the affected area, the project aims to avoid potential delays in the supply chain for other materials, as stated by Governor Josh Shapiro, the Associated Press has reported.

However, Shapiro refrained from providing a specific time estimate for when traffic will resume on this busy East Coast highway.
