Prodigal Son

Luke 15:20
"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him."

The story of the Prodigal Son is a powerful one indeed. Did you know that in ancient Israel, the elders would wait at the gates of the city and stone wayward sons if they returned as punishment? This is why the father in this story has to run past the gates and escorts him back, completely redeeming him. When you accept Jesus, He does the same for you.
