Sherie Wood is a candidate running for Amarillo City Council Place 1 on May 6, 2023.

In this video, Sherie shares her vision for a better Amarillo and explains why she's running for office. Sherie is passionate about improving public safety, especially for senior citizens and residents and businesses on the North Side of Amarillo. She believes in regular infrastructure maintenance and addressing homelessness, particularly for veterans and those who are homeless, to find them housing and jobs to help them feel valued. She also wants to create a "No Kill" animal shelter and hire vets to spay and neuter animals to address the issue of stray animals in the city.

Sherie is committed to getting kids, teens, and young adults off the streets and out of gangs by providing them with fun activities to enjoy. She also supports school choice and safety for parents and children. She wants to promote small mom and pop shops and stores and ensure transparency and accountability in city government.

Sherie is a strong believer in listening to the citizens of Amarillo, and wants to ensure that everyone's voice is heard. She supports single member districts to ensure that every district in Amarillo is represented.
