In the early 2000s, scientists began to notice a worrying trend – there were a lot of transgender frogs. These frogs were physically female, but genetically male! And, despite having lots of babies with male frogs, the frog population was mysteriously on the decline… So, what was happening to these frogs? Why were they switching sexes?

And, why do other animals (besides frogs) switch their sex? Is it all related to chemicals in the water, or do animals have other reasons for “queer” behavior? What curveball is Mother Nature going to throw at science, next? All this and more near the end of the video!
