Due to the lava flows in the Mayon Volcano in Albay province in the Bicol region of the Philippines, "mandatory evacuations" continue in the high risk area in the region. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the alert level was raised due to increased volcanic activity. Mandatory evacuation of more than 13 thousand people living within 7 kilometres of the Mayon Volcano, located 14 kilometres from Legazpi, the capital of Albay province, was made. While 1200 people died in the eruption that occurred in 1841, 5 climbers, including 3 Germans, who ignored the warnings in 2013, lost their lives due to volcanic activities.
