During Covid lockdown (the first one...), I came across a clapped-out 1911 Chandler and Price 8x12 printing press for sale. It was in need of some loving, but I found myself with some free time so I took on the restoration. Born again as Louise, she is now the cast iron light of my life. Since her rebirth, I have slowly been learning the printing process.

I've wanted to do a print using the overprinting technique and this is what I came up with. I cut the white oak, end-grain blocks out on my X-Carve CNC Router, made by Inventables. They were sealed with a lacquer to keep the ink from absorbing too much into the wood and then it was over to Louise to make the magic happen. The prints were done on some really nice, and super expensive, cotton paper. The technique used here is called overprinting.
