Men dressed as ‘devils’ jumped over babies in a religious tradition known as ‘El Colacho’.
The ritual, held in Spain’s Castrillo de Murcia, dates back to 1620 and is part of the annual Corpus Christi celebrations.

During the festivities, babies born over the past year are placed on mattresses as the ‘devils, or ‘Colachos’, jump over them. ‘The Colacho’ then runs out of the town and is believed to be taking the sins of the infants with him. The babies are blessed and are then considered to be cleansed and free of sin and diseases.
