East London man murdered wife then withdrew £800 from her bank account hours after the attack

A killer from East London withdrew £800 from his wife's bank account hours after murdering her. Yasmin Begum, 40, was murdered by her husband for financial gain. During sentencing, Judge Hales KC said there was “no doubt that the defendant had murdered Ms Begum for financial gain.”

Quyum Miah, 41, of High Street, Homerton was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Friday, 9 June. Miah, who was found guilty of murder, was sentenced to serve a minimum of 33 years in jail. The Bethnal Green local was sentenced after an investigation by detectives which involved extensive CCTV enquiries to track his movements.
