An Eruption occurred in the summit crater of Kilauea Volcano in the US state of Hawaii.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the Hawaii Volcano Observatory detected a glow in the Kilauea summit camera images, indicating the start of the eruption.
Stating that lava flow was determined from the cracks formed in the Halemaumau crater where the eruption started, USGS stated that the activity in the volcano is only in Halemaumau and the danger will be re-evaluated according to the progress of the eruption.
Hawaii's Emergency Management Agency announced that there was no indication that residential areas were in danger.
Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, has been erupting since 1983.
