Is Las Vegas's Newest Chicken Joint Worth the Hype? #shorts

Good Ol' Chicken is located at 8130 W Warm Springs Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89113

On Google page it says "Serving made-to-order hot & spicy fried chicken! We have wing combo, tender combo and boneless thigh combo." On their Yelp page it says " Our specially seasoned light & crunch batter serves mouthful of flavor! All of our chicken is also marinated in hot spices, which provides a nice kick to the flavor." I couldn't find a web page of theirs or much information other than these two. Here is my review of the restaurant.

New place that opened up about a month ago according to the cashier . I got an email from Yelp showing new places to try so I decided to come by . I had been craving Cane's the last couple days , but my son and daughter-in-law said the last few times they went it wasn't good . The prices here are also cheaper than Cane's .

I got the Number 2 Combo with 5 Chicken Tenders , Fries , Cornbread , Slaw , Drink , and Sauce . I got it to go . The cashier said some people didn't like that it was too spicy , but I didn't think it was very spicy . It supposedly is like a Korean bbq spice . The first thing I have to say is the batter is the wrong batter . It's the texture of fish fillets , not a flaky fried chicken batter . They were decent sized and tasted pretty good , but the spice just wasn't there and the texture was just off . The sauce is pretty good .

The fries were good and I liked the coleslaw better than Cane's . The cornbread was average baked kind that was cooked properly and a little fluffy which is good . No one likes hard burnt cornbread . The place was clean and sparsely decorated with a neon sign and some pictures on the wall . It's not bad , just somewhere I probably wouldn't go to again since I don't live close by and it wasn't like flavor jumping out . If you work in the area it's a good place to grab lunch versus a burger .
