The Boss and Swift Act, named after musicians Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift, is resurfaced legislation from 2019 introduced by three Democrats in New Jersey that is supposedly designed to bring more transparency to the mass ticketing industry.
The changes have once again been proposed after the announcement of Swift's "The Eras Tour" last November effectively crashed the Live Nation/Ticketmaster site and which then caused the secondary market
to explode.
Lawsuits have now been filed against the ticketing outlet by outraged concertgoers demanding fairer prices.
However the market determines the value of an item, whatever anyone wants to call it, seems perpetually lost on more liberal types. Much like the artists themselves who were once anti establishment but who now often turn their concerts into activism rallies for the normies, these people ignored the flagrant trampling of rights in the Covid era (and demanded we all stay inside and wear masks) but now think they deserve a cheap night out and are calling for more heavy-handed actions against the free market.
It is always interesting to see what the left in America becomes outraged over.
And once again, this bill will pass. And we will lose.
