___+TC distracting from truth?

If you need a buffer to make you feel more at ease watching true crime, should you change to fiction?
Should we feel comfortable watching real stories?
What effect does a make-up & crime or mukbang & crime or whatever+crime have and do we want that effect?
Apologies, but I got a little riled for a moment in this one.
I really don't mean any disrespect towards any creators. I don't know their motives & have nothing to base their intentions on. For me, it just feels wrong.
I've mentioned before that I don't like distractions in tc, but this Ada on demand video got me thinking about exactly why.

If you need a barrier to true crime, the emotional trauma of real lives lost, I think you should stick to fiction. SVU, CSI. There are lots of channels for ghost stories & spooky fun. But real people are different & what they went through shouldn't be softened & packaged to be more palatable for you.
There is nothing wrong with liking crime stories with all the drama & mystery, and there's nothing wrong with not being able to handle the emotional impact of recognition of true terror & pain. Just stick to fiction, please don't turn victims into characters.
