On Parliament Hill, government House Leader Mark Holland outlines a government proposal that would make hybrid sittings a permanent feature of House of Commons proceedings. Hybrid sittings of Parliament were introduced in March 2020 following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Responding to questions from reporters, the House leader comments on the Bloc Québécois motion that calls for the elimination of subsidies to the oil sector and for an investment in green technologies instead. He also comments on the Conservative party’s attempts to block the passage of Bill C-47, the federal government’s budget implementation legislation.
