Dense wildfire smoke envelopes Manhattan cityscape

Wildfire smoke blanketed New York City on Wednesday, June 7, causing “hazardous” air quality and reducing visibility. Footage recorded by Nomiki Konst from her home in Queens shows hazy conditions across Manhattan early Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service said conditions were not expected to improve going into Thursday “as smoke from wildfires in eastern Canada continues to filter southward.”
