Eleven hours before the House Oversight Committee would assemble to vote on holding FBI Director Wray in Contempt of Congress, the FBI agreed to permit members of the Oversight Committee to review an unclassified informant file that allegedly links President Joe Biden to a $5 million bribery scheme.

Reports are circulating that federal prosecutors are about to ask a grand jury to indict former President Donald Trump over his handling of classified documents after leaving office. If those reports are true, and prosecutors do move against Trump, it would be the first time in American history that the government had prosecuted the leading opposition candidate. It would also destroy public faith in the rule of law and voters’ trust in democracy.

President Joe Biden intends to nominate Charlie Crist as an ambassador, the White House said on Wednesday.

The announcement comes about seven months after Crist lost his bid to defeat Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and reclaim his old job after more than a decade.
