Kern County Grand Jury urges increased safety measures for code compliance officers

The Code Enforcement Officer Safety Foundation indicates in the last 30 years 23 code compliance professionals lost their lives across the state when trying to issue warnings or citations with reports detailing both attacks and assaults. 23ABC's Breanna Polk spoke with the manager of Kern County Public Works' Code Compliance Division to find out more about what actions a Kern County grand jury recommended to increase code officer safety.
