American and French flags wave by headstones on 79th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy

On the 79th anniversary of D-Day, American flags and French flags waved in unison beside thousands of headstones at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France Tuesday. 9,388 Americans are buried at the Normandy American Cemetery and 1,557 service members declared missing in action have their names inscribed in the Wall of the Missing.
