As promised, may I present the fabulous Maison Fauve Pilar Jacket!

The styling of this jacket is just so gorgeous, it’s not your ordinary denim jacket that’s for sure. Did I mention how fabulous it is?

As soon as I saw this pattern when it was released, I knew I had to have it. I did however think I would be waiting till Winter 2024 as Maison Fauve don’t release their new patterns as PDFs during the first season. I understand why, and as a patient person I was prepared to wait…..

BUT then Andrea of Beyond The Pink Door floated the idea of releasing it as a sewing kit and I was all over that like a kid on a donut!!! It does mean I’m going to have to trace the pattern (which will be a first for me) but we all have to make sacrifices in life don’t we!

If you happen to have purchased the pattern already but like me still need a little hand holding, Andrea has a top shelf sewalong that you can purchase separately. I highly recommend any of Andrea’s sewalongs. She has an assortment of free sewalongs on her channel, and as a novice (I feel I’ve progressed from beginner now) sewist, I still need guidance. Andrea helped me sew the Frida I’m wearing in this video in fact. Very generous when it comes to sharing her skills, I’d happily pay for a BTPD sewalong when it comes to a more intricate sew like this.
