Got my hands on the new Shimano TRANX 400HG-A. After a morning of casting various size lures and jigs, here's my first impression of the reel.

I was contacted by another Tuber with a great idea for protecting the side plate on a kayak, or any other situation (like fishing off the rocks) where dropping the side plate would be bad, really bad. The link is below:

Just a heads up. Since you bring up something that some may have concerns with, especially kayakers. Here is a simple way to prevent the sideplate from falling falling off.
