Trash dump on Everest condemned

Much of the internet acted shocked and horrified when a video was posted showing the open-air dumpster that was once a Mt. Everest campsite.

Abandoned tents, plastic bottles, discarded packaging and several unidentifiable objects litter what remains of Camp IV after its previous visitors decided the mantra of ‘leave nothing but footprints’ was something that only applied to other people. The video was shared by the Everest Today account, which called for stricter regulations and the promotion of ‘clean climbing practices,’ and quickly made its way around the internet.
