1. Recognizing the Depth of Our Sin
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
This verse from the book of Romans highlights the universal nature of sin. It emphasizes that every individual, regardless of their background or personal righteousness, falls short of God's perfect standard. It reminds us of our inherent human frailty and our need for redemption and forgiveness.

James 4:17 “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” This verse from the book of James emphasizes the importance of not only avoiding wrongdoing but also actively doing what is right. It reminds us that simply having knowledge of what is right is not enough; we are called to take action accordingly.

2. Understanding the Consequences of Sin
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the [a]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The verse emphasizes that sin has consequences, and one of its wages is death. Sin separates us from God and leads to spiritual and eternal death. This reminds us of the importance of living a righteous and moral life, as our choices have lasting impacts.

The verse also highlights the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. It teaches us that God offers forgiveness, redemption, and salvation to humanity as a gift. This reminds us of the abundant grace and mercy available to us through faith in Jesus, regardless of our past mistakes or sins.
