My marvelous, docile, 2023 baby-barn-dwelling wrens Thurs 060123AD

Everyone has glorious-singing, bug-eating wrens in their yards or woods this time of year. My Serenity's 2023 wrens are much more polite than nearly all the previous summer resident wrens. I literally spent yesterday (Thurs June 1) video recording (six hours) the minibarn birdhouse they are inhabiting. This scaled-down 48 minute video gives you a treat of sight and sound of my woodland paradise. Serenity is 500 feet into the woods, not far from an intersection of two very rural state highways. So here on this video composite you will hear many woodland birds (yes, crows are in the woods too!), the happy outdoor play of the Amish children next door, my tree frogs, an occasional low flying plane, an occasional bee, the quiet clacking of my aluminum knitting needles in the background and the occasional slamming of wooden cabin doors, the flutter of a wren leaving or returning to her house (note: returning, she often lands on the wind chimes, bird feeders and/or the camera's tripod before jumping through the entrance hole.) She often flew off when she heard me approaching, but not every time.

I don't know when the eggs were laid, so I don't know when we can expect to hear babies peeping as parents return with food. But you surely can't miss them when they're this close to the cabin.

Yesterday I filled the bird feeders for my other woodland birds with black oil sunflower seeds, suet and sugar water for the hummingbirds, but they did not discover this yesterday. I am hopeful they will start feasting today and tomorrow.
