Nova Scotia Battling Largest Wildfire in Province's History

Firefighters in Nova Scotia are facing the largest wildfire ever recorded in the Atlantic province, with flames reaching heights of nearly 100m. The fire has burned over 17,000 hectares and has resulted in the destruction of approximately 50 homes.

A separate wildfire near Halifax, the largest city in Nova Scotia, has forced the evacuation of thousands and continues to burn. The smoke from the wildfires has affected air quality and triggered warnings in the United States.
