Dr. Wood is a specialist in Canaanite pottery of the Late Bronze Age. He is author of "The Sociology of Pottery in Ancient Palestine: The Ceramic Industry and the Diffusion of Ceramic Style in the Bronze and Iron Ages.”

He is published in various academic journals and Received international media attention for his research on ancient Jericho that demonstrated the historicity of the Biblical account of the capture of the city by the Israelites. Dr. wood was named in various “Who’s Who” including Who’s who in Biblical Studies and Archaeology, and Who’s Who of international professionals.

Dr. Wood has been awarded various different travel grants including from:
the Endowment for Biblical Research
National Endowment for the Humanities
He has also been given Grants from the National Science Foundation to do neutron activation analysis of pottery from Kh. el-Maqatir.
