The Michigan Grassroots Alliance (MGA) is suing Wayne County, Michigan for unlawful obstruction and denial of its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request pertaining to election integrity. The FOIA asks for surveillance video footage of the Wayne County Clerk’s office during the August 2022 primary election. Despite acknowledging receipt of nearly $2,500 in fees for the requested footage in December 2022, Wayne County has not even given MGA a date to expect the video.
MGA president Patrick Colbeck calls this “denial through delay tactics” and accuses government officials throughout Michigan of using them to obstruct similar FOIA requests regarding the conduct of elections. “Since any challenge to the results of an election must be filed within 30 days of the election per Michigan statute, these denial through delay tactics serve as enablers to election fraud,” says Colbeck. “Those who engage in such tactics must be held accountable.”

Colbeck tells The New American what he personally witnessed during the primary election and what he hopes to expose by obtaining the surveillance video.
