Liberal MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting. Government House leader Mark Holland and ministers François-Philippe Champagne (industry), Marc Miller (Crown-Indigenous relations), Diane Lebouthillier (national revenue), Pablo Rodriguez (Canadian heritage), Karina Gould (social development), Omar Alghabra (transport), David Lametti (justice) as well as MP Chris Bittle respond to questions regarding a Radio Canada report that the RCMP will be increasing security for cabinet ministers and senior bureaucrats due to a rise in threats.
Minister Champagne is also asked about the status of negotiations with Stellantis to prevent the automaker from pulling out of a deal to build its electric vehicle battery plant in Windsor, Ontario.
Following the caucus meeting, Holland faces questions about rumours that Parliament may prorogue and also outlines the government's legislative priorities for the remainder of the House of Commons sitting.
