‘Azovstal was their [Ukrainian nationalists] main fortress, it’s the hardest site to capture,’ explains a Vostok Battalion soldier, codenamed ‘Woods’. He participated in the mission to push nationalists out of Azovstal and Mariupol.

The total territory of the steel plant is enormous - 11 square kilometers. It was built in Soviet times as a shelter from nuclear warheads and there’re dozens of tunnels running around like arteries.
