Sec. Blinken: US calls for finalization of Sweden’s accession to NATO

At a joint press conference with Swedish Prime Minster Ulf Kristersson in Luleå, Sweden on Tuesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. expects Sweden’s accession to NATO to be completed “in the weeks ahead.” Sec. Blinken said Sweden becoming a formal NATO member is vital to European security.
