Every so often in the personal lives of believers something fiery begins to burn in their hearts. It is distinct and truly becomes all-consuming. It takes them out of the norm of scheduled devotions, and spiritual exercises. This burning heart works to stretch the believer upwards and away from this world into the other.

I have experienced this burning heart and it makes it seem as if a shadow has been cast upon everything. There was a deepening yearning for something more. Something that my soul knew it could not find in any sermon, song or inspired writer. In fact trying to search for it in those directions increased the flames.

Is you heart burning within you? Are you feeling these same effects? It is the Holy Spirit moving within you and taking you out of the carved ways of doing things. He is getting ready to stretch you in a way that is glorious, full of power and strength in ways you have never experienced.

Do not hold back. Open up your hands to Him letting go of everything and let Him work in you what will only take you higher, making you freer and full of courage. Making you a "burning and a shining light" all the days of your life.

"My God, how wonderful Thou art, Thy majesty how bright, How beautiful Thy mercy seat, In depths of burning light!" ~ Frederick W. Faber
