On Monday, 29 MAY 23, on an exceptional #MemorialDay Broadcast on New Paradigms with Sargis Sangari, Episode #152, Stu Bradin, President and CEO at Global SOF, joins me to discuss the future of Special Operations Forces (#SOF) and SOF role in near-peer conflicts. We also discuss the changing roles of the #SOCs and SOC Cdrs in the fight., SOF #UW and #FID missions force structure changes, Naval Special Warfare desire to become more supportive of Fleet missions, #AFSOC capabilities, #MARSOC future roles, and many more critical issues and topics associated with the future force structure changes.

Stu discussed his perspective on what roles he sees for SOF in a near-peer conflict and how those roles and missions differ from those SOF missions during the last 20 years.

I asked Stu, in the execution of SOF mission sets in a near-peer fight, how does he see the roles of the SOCs and SOC Cdrs changing?

Stu and I also discussed how the #Army Special Forces have traditionally been the lead SOF element for Unconventional Warfare (#UW) and Foreign Internal Defense (#FID) missions and if this remains the focus, how will the force structure change to better support such missions? I additionally asked Stu if he saw Army #SF needing to emphasize #language, #ethnicity, and #culture to blend in better and execute UW in a modern, more #urbanized environment.

In discussing the #Naval Special Warfare which has outlined a desire to become more supportive of #Fleet missions, thus reversing the trend towards generic SOF capabilities, I wanted to know how Stu sees this trend playing out across the total SOF enterprise.

We also discussed if, in a near-peer fight, what additional capabilities he believes Airforce Special Operations Command (#AFSOC) needs to develop to deliver SOF rapidly to the battlefield more effectively.

Finally, we focused on the Marines becoming more SOF-like as a Service and how Stu sees the future of the Marine Special Operations Command (#MARSOC).

Please join us for this important interview.
