Part of our Pilot Review Series here on Vespor's Retro Reviews. This time we are looking at the first of three pilot episodes of the toy series based off of transforming robot toys from Hasbro. The ones that started it all. And yes we will be review all three episodes that make up the pilot to give you our full look at the set of episodes that started off the series that lead to a movie and lasted for almost 100 episodes in total throughout its 3/4 Seasons.
Besides just the review of the episode itself, we will also give a very brief history on how the series got started, where the toys came from and the idea to make a series out of it. And a few of the folks and companies behind what became known as "The Transformers" a series still going strong today in many different mediums.
The episode itself will take us from the war battered planet of Cybertron where the Heroic Autobots are wanting to escape their homeworld as they have been ravaged by the Evil Decepticons who want to take over all and rule with tyranny.
The Autobots, lead by Optimus Prime, are planning to leave to find energy on other planets and escape the Decepticons, but of course the evil Megatron finds out about the Autobots trying to find more energy and follows them and thus their adventure takes them to the Planet Earth many many many years later. And we have..
The Transformers!
This will be part of our Pilot Episode Review Series. Where we take in depth looks at pilot episodes of famous series from yesteryear and see how series got started. Sometimes pilots are great and memorable, sometimes not so much so. And sometimes shows are very different from how they were shown in the first episode. Should be a lot of fun to look at how things got started with this iconic series.
