Play as Historical (even Fantasy) Warriors in Simulated Combat, in this All In One Tactical Card Game!

Havoc! The Combat Card Game Quick Overview. by Anthony Dale

The full set comes with 864 poker-size cards - most with full-color art. All cards are complete and ready for printing.

Besides 864 poker-sized cards, everything needed to play comes in the box - three rulebooks (a Quick Start Guide, the Havoc! Handbook, and the Havoc! Reference Book), four ten-sided dice (two red and two white), tuck boxes for organizing your cards, tokens for tracking damage, and two cardboard playmats to help manage cardplay in your fights!

They also have a free downloadable "Free Havoc!" RPG that goes along with the cards

When starting the game, players select their fighters by choosing their Class - Knight, Barbarian, Warrior, Rogue, or Citizen. Players also pick the Prowess of their fighters and any special combat Abilities. Prowess is the fighter's combat skill and experience; Abilities are special tactics a fighter can use when certain conditions are met. Together, Class, Prowess, and Ability Cards comprise Havoc's "Combatant Cards" - players can use combinations of these cards to build the foundation for their fighters. The full set comes with 15 Class Cards, 20 Prowess Cards, and 36 Ability Cards. The Duel Decks come with smaller selections (more on that below).

Players wishing for a little more structure can choose from among 70 historical Archetypes or fantasy Foes. Besides full-color illustrations, the Archetype and Foe Cards provide all the game stats needed to play that fighter, including the amount of Damage the fighter can take (we call that "Body"), how long they can fight (we call that "Fatigue"), their Prowess level, any special combat Abilities, Weapons, Armor, and of course, their 25-Card Decks of Combat Action Cards. For example, a player choosing to fight as the gladiator-type Thracian uses the Archetype Card as a kind of recipe for building their fighter; a player choosing to play a dragon would pick either the Lesser Drake Foe Card or the card for Typhonas, a Greater Drake. The full set of Havoc! contains 37 cards for historical Archetypes and 33 cards for fantasy Foes, and allows for fights between any of these. The Havoc! Handbook also provides statistics for other types of historical fighters. The Duel Decks come with a smaller selection of Archetype and Foe Cards, between 2-4.
